NEW AMD Ryzen 9000 CPU's

AMD Ryzen 9000 Series

AMD is about to release their new range of AM5 socket CPUs. This will include the Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X. In this post, we will delve into more detail about these CPUs, which are coming out on the 31st of July.

What are the specs of the CPUs?

With AMD leading the Intel vs. AMD race, these new CPUs pack some serious power and are expected to be a lot more stable. Below is a breakdown of the new CPUs, including their cores and thread counts, so you know what to expect when they come out.

  • Ryzen 5 9600X: 6 cores, 12 threads
  • Ryzen 7 9700X: 8 cores, 16 threads
  • Ryzen 9 9900X: 12 cores, 24 threads
  • Ryzen 9 9960X: 16 cores, 32 threads

Comparison To The Intel Range

According to some of AMD's figures, the Ryzen 9 9900X, which is not even their top-end CPU, will outperform the current market-leading i9 14900K in both gaming and application benchmark results. If you are keeping up with tech news, you will be aware of the constant issues that Intel seems to be facing with their newer and even some of their older CPUs, so maybe now is the right time to switch to team red if you haven't already.

Expected Gaming Performance

As far as we know, these new AMD CPUs will offer a significant performance difference compared to the Intel i9 14900K. For example, AMD claims that the new Ryzen 9900X provides a 23% performance boost in F1 and an 11% performance boost in Cyberpunk 2077.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D vs. Ryzen 9700X

According to some statistics from AMD, this new eight-core Ryzen 7 9700X will outperform the Ryzen 7 5800X3D in gaming, even though it does not have any 3D V-cache. If this is true, it is incredible for a CPU; however, there is no reference to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. These new CPUs will have top-of-the-line specs from AMD, which means they can only get better in the future.

Efficiency / Power Usage

This is something that Intel has never managed to achieve with its CPUs; however, AMD has beaten them to it with most of its mid-range CPUs only needing 65W compared to Intel's 125W. This could also be true with these new CPUs, which only have a TDP rating of 65W. Yes, that means the Ryzen 7 9700X will only need 65W.

Conclusion

To overview these CPUs is not easy, as there are many rumors and speculations around them for now. We are really looking forward to seeing what AMD comes out with next; hopefully, a new Ryzen 9000 X3D is on its way.
