GTA 6 Price Revealed – But There Is A Catch For Gamers

Rockstar Games has finally revealed pricing details for Grand Theft Auto VI, and it's not just the cost that has fans talking.

The standard edition of GTA 6 is expected to cost $79.99, which converts to around £60-£65 at current exchange rates. However, most industry experts believe the UK launch price will likely be rounded up to around £69.99, with premium editions potentially costing £79.99 to £89.99.

No Physical Disc for GTA 6

One of the biggest surprises is that GTA 6 is expected to launch as a digital-only title. While retailers may still sell boxed versions, buyers are likely to receive a download code rather than a traditional game disc.

The move reflects the growing shift towards digital gaming, with publishers increasingly moving away from physical media. However, the decision is likely to disappoint collectors and players who still enjoy owning physical copies that can be displayed, traded in, or resold.

Console Players Get First Dibs

Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November 2026, but there is still no official word on a PC version.

Based on Rockstar's previous releases, PC gamers may have a lengthy wait ahead. Grand Theft Auto V arrived on PC around 19 months after its console launch, while Red Dead Redemption 2 took just over a year to make the jump.

If Rockstar follows a similar pattern, a PC release for GTA 6 is likely to arrive sometime between late 2027 and early 2028, although this remains speculation until the company makes an official announcement.

A Record-Breaking Launch Ahead

Despite the higher price and the lack of a physical disc, excitement surrounding GTA 6 remains enormous. The game is expected to become one of the biggest entertainment launches in history, with analysts predicting billions of pounds in revenue within its first year.

For many fans, the biggest question isn't whether GTA 6 is worth the money – it's whether they can wait another year or more if they're planning to play it on PC.
