Common IT issues

Whenever you run into a problem with your computer or laptop, the most common thing to do is turn it on and off. If this doesn’t work, then try turning it off and then leaving for a few minutes whilst everything cools down inside it, as most of the compounds create heat when they are being used. So, let that PC cool down before throwing it out the window!

If this does not work and you are still running into a problem, then try doing updates. I know that they are annoying and it is awful to sit and wait for updates when you have got something to do but usually when there is an issue with the software then an update can sort those drivers out. Check your drivers to make sure that they are all up to date, as there are new drivers every couple of months so it is best to check them to make sure that they are all up to date.

After doing this it should have fixed any issues you might have if not then it might be the hardware of your device. If this is the case, then please get a professional to look at it. You can always call us and we can have a look at it for you and tell you what is wrong with it.

Security is a very important part of the PC so if you are still having problems then a virus or malware might have found its way onto your system. Try running an antivirus program. Windows does have one built in but it is best to run another one as well just in case windows misses one. We provide Avast antivirus licenses and a virus removal service if it’s a particularly stubborn one.

Is your computer just running slow? If this is the case the you could try running a disk clean up this will get rid of all the junk on your hard drive or SSD which can increase the performance of your PC. You could also try and stop useless start up programs as they will case your computer to be very slow when it starts up as it is trying to load all of these different programmes all at once.

When the time has come that your PC is just too slow no matter what you try, it is best to get an upgrade. We offer a trade in service so you can bring us your old computers and then we can upgrade you to something newer and a lot quicker. You have got to think that many years ago PCs use to take up an entire room now you can fit one in your pocket.
