Job Description – IT Support Technician
We are looking to recruit a confident and enthusiastic IT Support Technician to work within the support team of our busy and growing IT business, Direct Computers.

The duties of an IT Support Technician include being a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties. Although the majority of work is based remotely within our offices, there is also the exciting opportunity of visiting clients on-site to handle and manage their IT solutions.
The ideal candidate would be skilled in installing, configuring and repairing hardware and software components to ensure efficient usability. They would also feel confident to trouble shoot any hardware/software issues, using their initiative to identify and resolve problems in a calm, attentive and resilient manner. With this in mind, we require candidates to have great accuracy and attention to detail in their work.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also key in this role, as you would be expected work collectively with the IT Manager and other colleagues for all projects and support required.
Another essential element of this role is to deliver a fantastic customer service and maintain positive working relationships with all of our new and existing clients. You would be the first point of contact for all IT queries from our customers, both in person and via telephone/email. We would expect candidates to listen carefully to clients' technical needs, understand their concerns and implement appropriate solutions to them.
Further responsibilities include:
- Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.
- Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers.
- Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
- Performing tests and evaluations on new software and hardware.
- Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
- Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
- Conducting daily backup operations.
- Managing technical documentation.
Desirable background and skills for the role:
- Proficient in database programming and software installation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Full driving license desirable but not essential.

Pay: Dependent on experience (to be discussed at interview)
Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9am-5pm.
Holiday: 25 days per annum
